Japanese cuisine is one of my favourite cuisine, but not that easy to find Japanese restaurant that can provide fresh ingredents. Hei Sushi is now landed in Malaysia with the first restaurant located in Putrajaya Alamanda. Hei Sushi, the sister brand of Sakae Sushi breathes new life into all-time Japanese favourites with a modern touch and an infusion of culinary styles. A unique contemporary dining experience, the all-new Hei Sushi offers a selection of sushi creations prepared with the same distinct freshness diners like Sakae Sushi.

When worlds meet, the results are indeed nothing short of spectacular. Likewise, Hei Sushi is poised to make waves in the Japanese food market with its inventive East-meets-West-meets-local take on the well-loved cuisine. Hei Sushi is conceptualized as a place serving Japanese food with a twist from the usual fare, through a hint of local and Western gourmet inspirations.
Other than green tea, Hei Sushi also provide Flower Tea (Hot) at RM 7.99 which the jasmine flower tea is served in a clear glass teapot to provide an invigorating treat for the senses and taste buds. If you see clearly, the flower is blooming in front of your eye.
I always ordered sashimi when im having my meal in Japanese restaurant. The Omakase Moriawase served by Hei Sushi, set sail on a journey of sashimi perfection with hand-picked treasures of fresh salmon, yellowtail, butterfish, salmon belly, premium scallop, octopus and tuna. It is available from 3 types (RM 23.99), 4 types (RM 33.99), 5 types (RM 43.99) and 5 types onwards (RM 59.99)
To meet the local and Western gourmet inspirations, Hei Maki (RM 13.99) will absolutely give you a shock on how they mixed the both in Japanese cuisine. Hei Maki is layered with seaweed, sweet Japanese omelette and cucumber completed with a flavoursome twist of Malaysia otak-otak. For your information, otak-otak is grilled fish cake made of ground fish meat mixed with tapioca starch and spices. It is widely known across Southeast Asia, especially in Indonesia. Malaysia and Singapore, where it is traditionally served fresh, wrapped inside a banana leaf, as well as in many Asian stores internationally.
The next dish i will recommend is Jackfruit Ebi Maki (RM 15.99). Have you ever seen Jackfruit being use in Japanese cuisine? Now you can find it in Hei Sushi. The unique maki creation of golden prawn tempura, seaweed, Japanese omellete and cucumber wrapped in sushi rice with and exquisite topping of jackfruit slices will keep appear in my mind after trying it.
To be unique, Hei Sushi specially make their sushi rice into a ball shape. Present to you, Temari Sushi come with the choice of delectable ingredients such as otak-otak, chicken floss, tuna, sweet beancurd skin and also salmon with avocado.
Maguro Steak Rikkyuyaki (RM 22.99) is a juicy tuna steak masterfully pan-fried with aromativ sesame paste sauce and served with steam buns for an enthralling burst of flavours. When i first look at this dish,I thought it is beef steak, but after confirming with the staff, I realize that is TUNA steak. For Chinese who cannot eat beef like me,now you can enjoy this dish to the max even though it looks like beef steak..
All above is just a la carte dishes present by Hei Sushi combining the best of Western and Japanese selections. In addition, there are main courses comprising a fine selection of seafood and meat set meals like the Hei Tori Specialty, a sumptuous intertwining of local and Japanese Gourmet inspirations where the specialty grilled chicken complemented with mango salad, pulut onigiri and spicy peanut sauce. This meal can be ordered by itself at RM 25.99 or as a 3 course meal at RM 35.99 with an appetizer and dessert. If you feel that is not enough, you can order as a 5 course meal at RM 50.99 included appetizer, sashimi, side dish and also dessert.
For heavy eaters, the King Platter comes highly recommended with a sumptuous meal consisting of grilled chicken, striploin and seafood, served alongside mushroom and vegetables with signature sauce. Like the Hei Tori Specialty, you can order itself at RM 49.99, 3 course meal at RM 59.99 or 5 course meal at RM 74.99
Lastly, no meal is complete without dessert. Hei Sushi offers diners one-of-a-kind after-meal indulgences such as Jackfruit Temptations (RM 8.99) which is luscious pairing of jackfruit in tempura style with vanilla ice cream and a topping of butterscotch syrup. It is really an unique dessert i have never seen before. I love the jackfruit tempura, it is so nice to eat with the ice-cream.
Hope you all enjoy your dining in Hei Sushi and share your dining experience with me.
