Chinese Cuisine Lunch at Di Wei, Empire Subang
Last week i had the chance to try out their latest Signature Dishes and I would said all their Signature Dishes satisfy my crave for Chinese Cuisine. Let me introduce here, some of the Signature dished i tried on last week.
1. Double boiled soup with herbs and black chicken (RM 32.50)
This soup takes a total of 4 hours to prepare and they add in green apple to bring out additional sweetness when you drinking. The Chinese herbs they used in the soup is equivalent to ginseng and it is served to offer health benefits for the liver.
2. Siew Loong Pao (RM 11.60)
Siew Loong Pao is originated from Shanghai and made popular in Taiwan, it is a must to order at Di Wei Chinese Cuisine Restaurant. Made with minced pork and spring onions, then it is steamed and ready to gently pop in your mouth with a warm delicious pork flavour that Siew Loong Pao is famouly known for. It tastes same just like the Siew Loong Pao in Shanghai when i visited years ago.

More than a chicken |
3. Herbal Chicken in rock salt (RM 120)
Village Chicken is always tasty than the Farm Chicken, because the chicken can run anywhere and live more happily than Farm Chicken. HAHA.. The Village chicken, aka Kampung Chicken is marinated with dark soy sauce, deep fried and stuffed with dry scallops, mushrooms, black fungus and pork belly. From outside, it is a chicken. But inside, is more than a chicken. Then, it is coated with rock salt, baked and flambeed with Chinese roast wine when served.\
4. Roasted goose (RM 324.80 Whole / RM 159 Half)
Some may think this is roast duck, But no...This is a roast goose, marinated with chinese herbs, 5 spice and roasted until golden brown and crispy. Some told me that the left drumstick is tastier than the right one. What do you think ?
5. Roasted Piglet (RM 420 Whole / RM 233 Half)
As I cover lots of wedding day photography, Roasted Piglet is always one of the dishes in the Wedding Dinner. It marinated with Chinese spices, herbs, salt and bean sauce and roasted to perfection and crispy.
You think this is the end of the Lunch, NO NO.. It is just a break for you to swallow your saliva. The chef is very kind to prepare a green drink for their customer where you can clean your taste bud after eating so much. I love the drink even thought it doesn't look attractive because it so refreshing! Lets Continue with the Lunch..
6. Homemade style baked spare ribs (RM 20.80)
The spare ribs is marinated in Chinese herbal soup overnight and marinated again the next day with red onion, honey, black soy sauce and spring onions. Rich in flavour but yet delicate enough to appreciate the spare ribs meat in this beautifully baked dish.
7. Fresh tiger prawn braised with milk and pumpkin cream sauce (RM 64)
Deep fried prawns covered in a rich, creamy pumpkin sauce flavoured with curry leaves and chili padi for that touch of heat. Even curry leaves and chili padi is inside the dishes, but it is not spicy at all. It is just so creamy and yet delicious. Do not forget try the Chinese bun and enjoy the every bit with the delicious creamy pumkin sauce.
8. Braised Crab meet and crab roe with homemade bean curd (RM 32.50)
This is the only vegetable we ordered that day. *oops* Di Wei makes its own bean curd using fresh egg and soy bean. It is then steamed, cut, deep fried and simmered in a crab meet and crab roe sauce with some bok choy and thickened with potato starch.
9. Di Wei signature fried race (RM 29)
Di Wei own unique sambal make the fried rice special from the fried rice you ever taste in other Chinese Cuisine restaurant. It is created just to fit Malaysia local tasted bud with little spicy in it.
This is all the dished i tried on last week. I can only say that Di Wei did really well in Chinese cuisine. There are some private dining section where you can booked for special occasions. Give it a try and tell me more about your experience.
