Kopiko Purple League opens a historic chapter in Malaysian badminton as the first professional badminton league with a prize money pool of RM2 million. The opening ceremony and opening tie kicks off with 12 premium clubs participating in this league where all levels of badminton players (professionals and amateurs) have an opportunity to gain valuable competition experience while also showcasing their skills to badminton fans and officials, thereby raising the standard of Malaysian badminton.

This endeavour is also seen as a perfect platform to create opportunities for retired national badminton players to continue their involvement in the sport, contributing to the goal of making Malaysia one of the leaders in World Badminton.
