HUAWEI MATE 8 LAUNCH -- LARGEST EVENT HOSTED BY HUAWEI IN 2016
In my opinion, the current launch do look grander as compared to any previous Huawei’s launching events. A few points worthwhile to be mentioned about would be:
Is location really that important? I would say, definitely YES! KLCC (Kuala Lumpur Convention Center) was chosen as the venue for the current launch of Huawei Mate 8. This location is more convenient as it is a trademark building and accessible through LRT. A linked mall (Suria KLCC) is operating everyday from 10am-10pm where the guests can actually get engaged if they arrive earlier and go around before the event started. Besides, the conference halls that held the launching event are more presentable with bigger capacity (up to 1,000 guests), larger stage and screens, better PA system, which provided a good platform for the launch.
The registration started at 2pm, which is a good timing as guests will have some time for lunch and show up afterwards. Live band was hired to keep the VIPs, medias and guests entertained, bringing out the classiness of the whole event too! And yeah, the crowd was there, fitting in all the seats, all in before 3pm. The event was able to start punctually at 3pm with a video showing the transformation of smartphone technology by connecting premium living and business management with the launch of Huawei Mate 8. Seriously, getting a launching event with a thousand guests to stick to the agenda is not easy, however, Huawei manage to do so and hopefully this culture stays for long.
With the joining of the new Product Marketing Director, Luke Au (ex Samsung Head of Product Marketing), he was the main presenter for the current launch, introducing the new breakthrough device by Huawei, the latest Mate 8. With aids on visual (nice and high resolutions graphic pictures and videos) and auditory (presenting the difference between VoLTE and the older version), he was confident and proud of the launch of the latest Huawei Mate 8. Information provided were great in giving a punch to the current smartphone market where everyone needs a battery with larger capacity instead of carrying a heavy powerbank along. A big round of applause to Mr Luke Au indeed!
A few VIPs such as Bruce Lee (Vice President of Huawei Device's Handset Product Line), Datuk Jimmy Choo (Founder of Jimmy Choo Ltd), Timothy Tiah (Co-founder of Netccentric), Bryan Loo (CEO of Chatime Malaysia), and Atita Haris (Founder of OP Perfumes) were invited to the event and onto the stage to share their experiences with Huawei Mate 8. It is to bring out how great that Mate 8 can be used for businessman or even someone who just need a HUGE battery.
This round, Huawei has a bigger experience zone for media to try out their latest products, including Huawei Mate 8, MediaPad M2, newly launched Huawei watch for ladies and also Nexus 6P. Testing products provided were sufficient for medias and guests to gain some hands-on experience and work on the products reviews.
It was awesome that Huawei hired professional models for the device presentation catwalk show, it really boosted up the level of the whole event. Last but not least, it is sad that parking tickets were not being validated for guests who joined the event. =)
Overall, I was truly impressed by the launch of Huawei Mate 8, a more proper launching event which also boost up the statue of the newly launched device. Well done Huawei for the grand launching event!
